For the month of January, we turned our focus toward the tennis and the phenomenon that is the Australian Open. With nearly 100% of our sites across Australia joining in the fun, we had everything from epic table tennis grand slams, to massive ticket giveaways and competitions.
The Harbour City wasn't about to let Melbourne have all the fun. The team at MLC Center Sydney organised an incredible table tennis competition, complete with prizes, trophies and some well-meaning competitive spirit.
With competitors joining us from all over the building our champions brought with them cheer squads of colleagues and a lust for glory. Taking place in the beautiful, outdoor "Birdcage" space, participants competed over the length of the tournament until one winner was crowned.
Congratulations to Nathan G of ASG Group for taking out the prize and to everyone else who participated.
John, our Community Manager from 567 Collins Street completed one of our biggest competitions of the year. With over 400 people entering the draw, it was obvious that the people of Melbourne are tennis mad!
And why wouldn't they be? With a double pass to the sold out and impossible to get, Men's Final as first prize, everyone wanted to be in the running. The good old fashioned "guess the tennis balls" proved popular as ever, and Cara B. from Intrepid Travel won our major prize with a guess of 310 balls.
567 Collins' tenants also caught all the action live at their lobby viewing lounge. Complete with fake grass and deck chairs, it added great ambience to the already beautiful space.
With a well-received guessing competition and some very happy prize winners, Collins Place was a great spot to be over the Australian Open.
But the real crowd pleaser was our "Ben & Jerry's" ice cream giveaway which drew hundreds of people to the busy stall as they hustled for their favourite flavour. With temperatures soaring, members of the Collins Place community received the treat free of charge while Community Manager Bella, rattled the tins and collected over $700 in gold coin donations from anyone else wanting a scoop.
